They marched across the fields and attacked Rawfolds Mill in Cleckheaton where the new looms had been installed. WebCartwright had been expecting the attack on the mill. It came in the early hours of 12th April 1812, the night of a new moon. There were 150 Luddites armed with hatchets and muskets.
